 Blog #3
Working with others as a group is an effort that requires time and patience in order to receive the rewarding outcome.  In order to improve teamwork effectiveness, the team must accomplish its tasks in agreement with one another. Improving teamwork effectiveness can be done in a number of ways depending on the individuals in the team.  Each individual must have something useful to contribute and must be open-minded to other group member’s ideas.
Teamwork can be more effective if each member of the team is not closed minded.  When improving a team’s performance, the team needs to hear everyone out and not be too quick to shut down an idea.  A team member also needs to be assertive and speak up if he/she is not seeing the big picture of the team’s final agreement.  When you have an entire group to work with, you can take the information from each individual and combine it into a creative source to draw ideas from. Each member of a group has something to add in enhancing the quality of a project.  One student may excel in an area that another student does not.  Each team may assign a group member to an assignment they are more comfortable with or something they are determined to better themselves at.  It is important to learn from the knowledge of other team members and expand your abilities in future team efforts.
